Magistrate Judge Kenia Seoane López is currently a Family Court Magistrate Judge in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Before being appointed as a Magistrate, she served as a Bilingual Attorney Negotiator in the Domestic Violence Unit of the District of Columbia Superior Court. Prior to joining the Court, she was an Assistant Attorney General in the Legal Services Section of the Child Support Division in the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia. Magistrate Judge Seoane López served as a Law Clerk to the Massachusetts Superior Court and the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

Magistrate Judge Seoane López is a 2002 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School. In 2002, she also received a Masters of Arts from the University of Wisconsin Graduate School in Latin American, Caribbean, and Iberian Studies. She graduated Cum Laude from Northeastern University in Boston, MA with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. She served as the President of the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia. Magistrate Judge Seoane López is also a Board Member of the Spanish Education Development Center in Washington, DC and The Hispanic Bar Association of DC Foundation. Magistrate Judge Seoane López is originally from Cuba.
