In 2019, the Council on Legal Education Opportunity, Inc. (CLEO) will recognize and honor a total of nine individuals, law schools, law firms, corporations, associations, etc. that have made significant accomplishments, or demonstrated commitments, to Education, Diversity, and Greater Equality in the legal profession.
Called the CLEO EDGE Award, each of the “pillars” will be feted at the 2019 CLEO EDGE Honors reception in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, November 7th. Also, on this night, we will bestow the second CLEO EDGE Vernon E. Jordan, Jr. Heritage Award, which is slated to be presented to Boston attorney,business leader, and 71st governor of Massachusetts Deval L. Patrick by Mr. Jordan himself.
A nominee can be recommended for more than one award with the letter of support explaining how the nominee fulfills the various criteria. Additional application requirements include:
- Nomination Narrative (500 words max) – a description of the specific achievements which demonstrate significant accomplishment for which the nominee is being nominated and the time frame.
- Letters of support and/or additional supporting material, e.g. copies of media coverage or past public recognition, etc. may also be submitted but are not required.
