In 2021, the Council on Legal Education Opportunity, Inc. (CLEO) will virtually recognize and honor a total of four individuals, law schools, law firms, corporations, associations, etc. that have made significant accomplishments, or demonstrated commitments to Education, Diversity, and Greater Equality in the legal profession.

General Information
Called the CLEO EDGE Award, each of the “pillars” will be feted at the 2021 CLEO EDGE Honors virtual reception on Thursday, November 18th. Also on this night, we will bestow the fourth CLEO EDGE Vernon E. Jordan, Jr. Heritage Award, which will be presented to another deserving individual for his/her/their exemplary service and dedication to the legal profession and society!!
Award Process
A call for nominations will be sent to law schools, firms, individuals, organizations, and other legal entities. To be considered for an award, the nominator (or nominee) must complete this application (nominations are now closed).
Nominee Criteria
A nominee can be recommended for more than one award with the letter of support explaining how the nominee fulfills the various criteria. Additional application requirements include:

Nomination Process
Nominations are currently being accepted. Applications must be submitted via our online nomination form.
Awardee Selection Process
The CLEO EDGE Honors Selection Committee will review all nominations and make recommendations to the CLEO Board and Advisory Council which will then select the awardees.
CLEO EDGE Honors Reception
Awardees will be honored at that CLEO EDGE Honors Reception on Thursday November 18th, 2021 via a virtual presentation.
