Mock Law Class: “A Day in The Life of a Law Student”
The professor will place the students in a “mock” law school setting and introduce the students to the process of legal reasoning and legal analysis.
How to Get the Most Out of Your Undergraduate Experience
This session taught by a Pre-Law Advisor, will educate students on topics such as selecting a challenging course load, developing strong relationships with professors and pre-law advisors, and developing solid time management and study skills.
Practical Law: Practicing Law in the “Real World”
An attorney will focus on the everyday life of a lawyer, including the day-to-day life of an attorney, case management, and life in the courtroom.
Mock Admissions Panel
Students will have the opportunity to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of law school applications and learn what admissions professionals say about the applicants and their applications. The goal is to help students appreciate the competitive nature of law school admissions by understanding that their applications will always be evaluated in comparison to those submitted by other students. This session will also stress the importance of undergraduate grades (GPA) and LSAT scores in admission decisions.
Lunch Break (Lunch Provided) – Networking with peers and professors/presenters
Reading/Writing Workshop
This workshop will emphasize critical reading and basic writing skills. The goal is to help participants understand the correlation between strong reading and writing skills and success in both their undergraduate work and the LSAT.
Introduction to Logical Reasoning & Critical Thinking
This session will challenge students to begin (or continue) to develop logical reasoning skills by tackling a sample logic problem. Also, students will learn how selecting courses that challenge their analytical skills will help them during their undergraduate coursework, and on the LSAT.
