CLEO EDGE AWARDS

Alexandria, VA—November 4, 2021—Cassandra Sneed Ogden, former Council on Legal Education Opportunity, Inc. (CLEO) Chief Executive Officer,  will be the recipient of the CLEO EDGE Vernon E. Jordan, Jr. Heritage Award on Thursday, November 18, 2021.  Ogden will be recognized for her lifetime achievements during the CLEO EDGE Honors virtual reception. She led the venerable, 53-year old organization from 1995 until her retirement in 2020.

Alexandria, VA—October 21, 2021—Evangeline Mitchell, Yolanda Hawkins-Bautista, and Cuong Quy Huynh will be the recipients of the 2021 CLEO EDGE Awards during the CLEO EDGE Virtual Honors Reception on November 18, 2021, from  6 – 7:30pm.  CLEO, widely renowned for its mission to increase the number of lawyers from diverse backgrounds, created these awards to promote its focus on the three pillars or characteristics which undergird the organization’s purpose and in recognition of its 50th anniversary.  Those pillars are Education, Diversity, and Greater Equality.

 Alexandria, Virginia, September 10, 2021—The Council on Legal Education Opportunity, Inc. (CLEO) has opened its call for nominations for the CLEO EDGE Awards for its 53rd Anniversary. The CLEO EDGE Honors Reception will be held virtually on Thursday, November 18, 2021, beginning at 6:00pm ET.

Stacey Y. Abrams, Penn State Dickinson Law, Barbara McQuade, and the Three Black Lives Matter Co-Founders Recognized during November 12th Virtual Awards Reception. In celebration of its 52nd anniversary, the Council on Legal Education Opportunity, Inc. (CLEO) recently hosted its CLEO EDGE Virtual Honors Reception, recognizing six outstanding leaders in Education, Diversity, and Greater Equality in the legal profession and throughout society.

The Council on Legal Education Opportunity, Inc. (CLEO) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2020 CLEO EDGE Awards in Education, Diversity, and Greater Equality. CLEO, widely renowned for its mission to increase the number of lawyers from diverse backgrounds, created these recognition awards to promote its focus on the three pillars or characteristics which undergird the organization’s purpose and in recognition of its 50th anniversary.

Political leader Stacey Abrams will be recognized for her lifetime achievements during the CLEO EDGE Virtual Honors reception on November 12, 2020. Candidate for Governor of Georgia, Minority Leader of the Georgia House of Representatives, and Founder of the Fair Fight Action, a national voting rights organization, Abrams will receive the CLEO EDGE Vernon E. Jordan, Jr. Heritage Award. The Award honors a person who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in Education, Diversity, and Greater Equality in the legal profession and society.

The Council on Legal Education Opportunity, Inc. (CLEO) has opened its call for nominations for the CLEO EDGE Awards for its 52nd Anniversary. The reception will recognize and honor a total of three individuals, law schools, and/or legal organizations that have made significant accomplishments or demonstrated commitments to Education, Diversity, or Greater Equality in the legal profession.

CLEO has announced the recipients of the 2nd Annual CLEO EDGE Awards in Education, Diversity, and Greater Equality. Nine (9) honorees have been chosen from a host of individuals and entities for their accomplishments. CLEO created this recognition in 2018 to promote its focus on the aforementioned three “pillars,” which undergird the organization’s purpose and in recognition of its 50th Anniversary.

The Council on Legal Education Opportunity, Inc. (CLEO) has opened its call for nominations for the 2019 CLEO EDGE Awards. The CLEO EDGE Honors Reception will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2019 in Washington, DC. The awards will honor a total of nine individuals, law schools, and legal organizations that have made significant accomplishments to Education, Diversity, and Greater Equality in the legal profession.
