Drake University Law School has long proven its dedication to diversity and inclusion. One point of pride is alumnus Charles Preston Howard, a 1920 graduate of the law school, who co-founded the National Bar Association because African Americans were excluded from membership in the American Bar Association. Drake Law School now houses the National Bar Association archives.

Drake Law is one of CLEO’s four partners in the CLEO Legally Inspired Cohort (CLIC) Program, a pilot project to help diverse students find a new path to law school.  The program was implemented this summer, during the 2016 Pre-Law Summer Institute.  And twice in the last six years, Drake Law has hosted CLEO’s Pre-Law Summer Institute.
